10 second CRX, street-legal car...

Hey I was gonna do a little project with some buddies, we were gonna purchase a CRX for a couple hundrend bucks and I was wondering what motor would be best to swap into it, so that we could run 10's and still have it be a street-legal driveable car... Please help???

so your saying the B18C1???? or B18C?? I heard that if I was to put a H22A motor into the CRX it would run 12.8's and also, I would have to cut the frame because the motor is a lot bigger than the Engine Bay...

There's a guy runnin' 10's in his CRX with a turbo d16a6. Think about that.

if it's a project and your on a budget, get the b16a 1st generation. And it's a complete bolt on with the cable tranny.

10 sec streetable is a very hard task.......actually, i doubt it's even possible to have a street LEGAL 10 sec. honda......streetable, sure why not........you can drive on the street w/ a fully gutted, turbo and nitrous fed 1700 lb car w/ slicks on it.......it just won't be legal.......i'm not trying to bash you or anything, and i know they always told you in elementary school set your goals high.......but i don't know.......

A h22 won't require cutting of the frame but it will require welding in new mounts. As for your goal, it is possible, but it will be an extreme stretch. There is also a D15 powered car that was running low 10's for a while too. Any motor has that potential if you build it properly. If I had your goal in mind(although if I was considering trying to make it to the 10's, I would rather build a full out drag car and shot for 8's), I would build a stroked turbo GSR motor.
