Talking Slammed Convertible.....

Hi, I've just joined the forum and in need of some help.

I've just purchased a 325i Convertible (1994). It has a full M3 kit and wheels fitted (17" - tyres are 235/45/17). The rear shocks are a bit saggy so I want to change the complete suspension (front and rear) to level it out.

I want to drop it as low as possible without cause any tyre rubbing. I also don't want to break the bank!!

Can anyone recommend any suspension kits which would slam the car. All the obvious companies like Koni, Avo, Bilstein only offer a 30mm drop, but I'd like ot go double that. ( don't really want to fork out for a set of coilovers).

I have around £500 to spend.

Any help would be greatfully received.

Cheers
Chris

Well the first thing that springs to mind is the county you live in. Essex. First off do you think Essex will ever shake its image if people like you go around removing perfectly good cars of their suspension.

Do you also tune your car and thus increase its fuel consumption, adding to the detrimental effects that waste exhaust gases have on the environment?

As it stands why dont you get Gordon Brown MP and his chums to sit in the back, that should lower it a touch.

If you are looking for a dolly to sit in the passenger seat, could I suggest you look no further than Valerie Davey, Labour MP for the Bristol West Constituency.

Ohh if only I was a few years younger, I would beat you to it.

Remeber, a safer London is a Labour London.

You could always trade it in for a 500cc bike and improve the performance to Porker 911 levels.

Excuse me Mr Big Tank, could you refrain from such expletives........

I do agree that the idea of "Slamming" this car seems rather silly however

I'm sorry, if we're going to start talking about Subs I'll have to refer the question to my Right Honourable colleague Geoff Hoon MP in his capacity as Secretary of State for Defense

Unhappy It's a disgrace

When I was in power, you lot would be behaving or I'd ship you off to the Falklands.

Anyway, what's this about a Beemer wanting to be dropped? In Essex? What's wrong with a white XR3i young fellow? You can get more in the back of one of those and Sharon and Tracey would be pleased to cruise around Harlow in that. You could even whip them off to Southend and ponce along the sea front.

It's a bit slow too, this fat old 6-er. Priller could beat you away from the lights (and into the nearest wall....)

You need a TVR - that's street cred. But it will break down.

Now run along......has anyone seen my son Mark recently?

Actually, I'd be interested in any info on lowering the suspension. You see, my labrador's getting on a bit and can't make the jump up onto the passenger seat any more. I can't go anywhere without him, obviously.
