yo, i hear Skyline GTRs can hit high 12s and mid 11s with jus a few modifications. IS it true? For Example, u put in better air intakes, add headers (man, i dunno wut im sayin), but jus a few stuff could make the Skyline hit mid 12s or high 11s. For those pplz wit Skylines, how many HP does it take to make a GTR hit those 1/4 times?

Should probobly let Razor answer this, but I have seen his car run a 12.8 on a slow track, on a slow day, with a Passanger. And I believe he only has an exhauste, intake and a chip.

Which GTR? R32, R33, or R34
I have seen low 12s, but that is not the cars strong point.

I've done a 12.4 with exhaust, pod filters and the ecu chipped running 1 bar of boost. That is a car with the full interior, full tank of gas, spare tyre, jack etc still in the car.

Hey Razor, what kind of boost do the stocker turbos on the R32s throw? The 34s throw .4 bar.
A full bar of boost (14.5psi) is no feat for an RB slab im aware, but its significantly harder than the stockers (if theyre anything like the 34s), and with boost more than doubled, ecu chipped, and a clean exhaust to garbage all that air, Id say (IMO) thats more than "lightly modded". I dunno about low 12s, high 11s with I/H/E...

You are saying stock R34 GTRs only put out .4bar. Where did you find this info, because its a little off.

Funny, I didnt ask you.
Pricks like you are the reason people dont go onto other forums to learn about all kinds of cars. "Lightly modded" is I/H/E, not stickers, am i automatically a ricer since I drive a honda? Thats sad, still using the honda/ricer gig. Don't just tell me .4 bar is wrong, tell me whats right. I would think if my misinformation bothers you, you would be sure to get me the correct info, and if it doesn't bother you, then why did you reply? Are you that bored? I learned that the R34 GTR boost .4 bar on http://www.jbskyline.net/R34/GTR/ind...#TheTechnology Its a page in the GTR section of www.jbcarpages.com This site is very informative of the GTRs history in technology, specifications, and racing in general. More informative ive found than most sites routed specifically for the GTR. Either tell me where to find what you call the good info, or leave me the hell alone. Razor, my question still stands, and I donot intend to be offensive, but am curious, and lightly asked questions get overlooked.

Oh and btw skylineUSA, the less boost the turbos throw stock, the more impressive the engine is. And youll also be happy to know that .4 bar is way under the capabilities of just the stocker turbos, and needless to say the forged 8:1 compression bottom end on the RB could easily handle ungodly amounts of added boost.
Maybe if i praise the skyline like a God a little... you will quite calling me a ricer...

C32Bperformance,
I was really only playin. If you think I was calling you a ricer, I apologize. As for the .4 bar, I am pretty sure it should be .7. Lightly modded is up to everyones own interpitation(sp). As for me, yes Razor's GTR was lightly modded.

The factory fuel and ignition maps that Nissan have created for the Skyline is quite conservative to say the least. Simply chipping an R32 GTR with nothing else changed my car when from 188kw at the wheels to 246kw at the wheels. That is a healthy increase in anyone's book. Getting a 1500kg car down the strip and into the 12's with under 400hp is not an easy feat at all, especially on a shit track as we are used to running on. Lightly modded is what my car is plain and simple. As a matter of fact simply finding an R32 or R33 GTR that has not had the factory exhaust and airbox replaced is very difficult. It is a cheap way to gain performance in a healthy amount. Chipping the ecu is also cheap. $600 NZD or about $300 USD. We are furtunate enough to have a tuner that is capable of doing it otherwise your looking at an aftermarket ecu. Keep in mind nothing else has been touched either. The engine and turbos are factory standard and I've only recently upgraded the factory front mount to a much thicker aftermarket one. The R32 and R33 GTR turbos are very weak also. Being they have a ceramic exhaust wheel bonded to a steel shaft, they are prone to snapping off when a constant diet of more than 1bar of boost is applied. Hence upgrading to steel wheeled turbos are the norm. PS. SkylineUSA has a vast knowledge of these cars also so don't underestimate him

np razor, thanks for the detailed specs, and i had no underestimate about skylineUSAs knowledge trust me, i only assumed (and very poorly i might add) that he was tryin to get an arguement started.
I gotta say though, you have gotta have nicer strips then the ones we got around here pullin 12s with less than 400hp. Around here, ZO6 vettes and a good portion of the viper traffic struggle to hit low 13s... Last Q, you know any good sites off the top of your head where i could find more accurate info about the gtr, since the ones i got are sorta faulty. ty
