95 Accord need help removing front outer door handles
I'm replacing the plastic seals around the outer door handles.
Rear ones were no problem, but I can't get the fronts off. There's a metal plate on the back of the lock cylinder that I think I need to remove - can't tilt the handle up because this sticks out at the bottom. Can't see how to remove this plate. Haynes manual basically says "disconnect everything and remove the handle." Not helpful. Anybody done this or have a factory manual they can look it up in? TIA. |

You are probably missing a screw there is a screw that you need to take out on the handle and that will allow you to move it forward so you can pull it out, then diconnect the wires and the door release rod (be sure not to damage the clip), remove screw in pull cover of power options switch panel, lift and disconnect wiring harnesses, the pry off the sail at upper inside corner of door starting at the top, then remove retaining clip just below the sail. Pry door removing reataining clip starting from bottom, then lift upward and out, and be sure to disconnect the courtesy light. Now your door panel is off.
