Our 2001 Dodge Durango stopped running after taking off the battery terminal and putting it back on can anyone help?

We've been using our Dodge Durango for a little over a month, but after taking the battery terminal off and back on again it would start but would only stay running no longer than 2 seconds before it stops again. We've tried scanning the car for problems using an autel car scanner, but all that came up was battery failure and problems about the PCM

Is security light flashing? Take the battery to any auto parts store for a load test.

It sounds like your Dodge Durango might be experiencing a PCM (Powertrain Control Module) or security system issue after the battery disconnect. Since your Autel scanner flagged a battery/PCM problem, try performing an Autel diagnostic tools software update to ensure compatibility with the latest error codes. Sometimes, outdated software can miss critical fixes.

If the issue persists, check for loose wiring, blown fuses, or a failing fuel pump relay. A relearn procedure (via a dealership or advanced scan tool) may also be needed after battery disconnection. For reliable diagnostic tools, check out Autel diagnostic tools software update obdprice.com to keep your scanner optimized.

@mubashar123, please note the age of the thread when posting and tailor your post accordingly. While some of the information you shared may be beneficial from a general standpoint, if the OP has not responded in the past 4 years, they probably are not still actively trying to fix this issue.
