location of splices

2005 Colorado 4 door.

License plate lights wiring torn off with wires dangling with no power. Found drawings 2004 - 2006 Canyon & Colorado with 3.5L.zip.
It shows Exterior Lights part 2. Brown and black wires lead to left and right rear lights. Signal and tail lights are all working. Obviously the brown wire for the plate lights is spliced somewhere in the loom. The schematic shows S400, which must represent a splice. I've followed the wires back about 2 feet in the loom but nothing yet.

Where is that splice???
