Small evap leak
2001 Camry 4 cylinder replaced canister and solenoids and gas cap. Check engine light still coming on. How can find this problem? Any ideas what it could be?

Since you've already done the canister, solenoids, and cap, next up: smoke test the system (rent a machine from AutoZone for cheap) to spot the exact leak;often it's a cracked hose to the intake manifold or a faulty purge valve diaphragm that doesn't show on visual inspection. Pull the exact DTC (P0440? P0442?) with a scanner if you haven't; that'll narrow it. The factory service manual has the full EVAP schematic and pressure test procedure (section EC-50 or so) that makes it foolproof. Hang in there, you'll chase it down quick! What code is it throwing? |
