Discontinued Water By-Pass pipe for 88, what do I do!

Shop has engine torn down, manifold off, and says this part is the one catastrophically leaking. Coolant sprays in compartment when driving, gauge goes fairly quickly to red, boiling gurgle sound when engine turned off.


But the part verified by dealer is 16268-62011 and they say discontinued!
I haven't found anyplace online with it! A couple are closed until Monday (it's Saturday now), but I need that part rushed ASAP.


What can I do? Does 16268-62010 work instead of 16268-62011?

In case it's frowned upon, I made this identical post at the same time to another forum that starts with toyota and ends with nation. It is getting action if anyone cares. (I know it's exasperating when someone says something exists somewhere and they don't give links. I don't know the rules for giving links to a "competing" forum but if someone asks I'll supply it.)



I posted here also on the presumption that some have accounts here but not there.

The only forum rule affecting that is to post only one thread in one forum on this site. No one expects that someone looking for a solution wouldn't use all the available resources and post on other sites. Only a "progressive" would think they should have that much control, or even want it.

Correct. Interestingly, one of the members on the other forum recommended against that online parts website.

I don't have any experience with them, but simply found that in a quick search. The Toyo-Nation forum likely has more experience, and I'd be curious about why they advise against using a specific vendor without details. I've seen a lot of sites that list parts, and after they are ordered a message comes back indicating that they are not available - After they have your payment. I would avoid those, too.
