Strange car noise (video)
My car is a Volkswagen Golf 1.0 TSI BlueMotion DSG Sequential, 110hp, 2018. It's gone been through about 56,000km, or 35,000 miles, depending on where you're from. :-) Right after I bought a new car, and was about to sell this one, it's started making this noise (see video). It still drives fine and I cannot discern any other issues. Any chance all it needs is an oil change? :-P
Here is the video: https://youtu.be/dptH2834biM |

Re: Strange car noise (video)
So have you checked the level and condition of the oil? If you do opt for an oil change, request a "Used Oil Analysis" kit, then retain a sample to have an analysis performed to find out if there are abnormally high levels of different metals which might signify main bearing or other issues.
If you remove the oil fill cap while the engine is running does the noise get louder? -Rod |
