Will a Gen 1 Liftgate fit a Gen 2 Escape?
Gen 1 = 2001-2008
Gen 2 = 2008-2012 My 2010 liftgate is totally rotted out on the bottom. I have an excellent Gen 1 complete tailgate. The body contour has a crease at the bottom of the glass which is not present in t he 2010. The bottom of the Gen 1 is 1/8" wider than the Gen 2. The main and glass releases are manual on the Gen 1 while electric on the Gen 2.
