Are you asking about the fill line on the bottom of the dipstick? If so, from the bottom of the add oil line to the top is 1 quart. About the type of oil, I would think it is 5w30, most cars from the early 90's on are, and my 90 si says 5w30 on the air filter assembly. But if you do end up mixing oils, like most of the oil is 5w30 but you add a quart of 10w30, it will be fine, just don't be putting 3 quarts of 10w30 in your 5w30 civic.
I put 10w40 in a car that used 5w30 so it wouldn't burn oil so quickly, and it ran fine. |

Oh, forgot to say something. If you use a heavier oil (higher the numbers, heavier it is) sometimes your engine might rattle, or knock for just a second when you start it, but this doesn't cause internal damage and it is normally is a kind of quiet.

10w30
the nubmer befoer the "w" is the wiehgt of the oil....hte number after is the viscosity....U should be good with 10weight oil during t he summer monhts and 5w30 in witner. if ur racing, use a ligher weight oil....u can even use 0 weight if u like...;jusst replace it afterwasrds
