Car Fault Code Reader,

I would welcome any recommedations re: car fault reader engine diagnostic scanner reset tool. I have a a: VAUXHALL VECTRA DIESEL HATCHBACK -2.0 DTi LS 5dr, Year: 2002, Manual, which I've had from new as a firm's car which I bought when I retired and which has only completed 60,000 miles.
I bought the Creader 319 Car Fault Code Reader, which is supposed to work with my car, but it doesn't. and the brake peddle and accelerator trick to show the codes doen't work either. I am looking to clear the spanner-over-car symbol on dash that won't go out.
