'90 Geo Tracker LSI Radiator ? 17.75" or 18.5" ?
My 1990 Geo Tracker LSI with Automatic (98,500 miles) is overheating.
I have a 185° Thermostat in it. When it gets hot out (>90°), the temp needle climbs to just a mm under the RED. Normally on cool days it runs just left of center on the gauge. I had to drive with the heater on - Fan On Full to keep it from getting into the red two days ago while coming home. In traffic - LORD ! I installed a new thermostat Fan Clutch last year. Just had all the seals replaced - leaked oil badly - New Water pump New Oil Pump also. A local mechanic suggested that I put in a new radiator. I could buy an Electric Fan and install that..... Not wanting to possibly waste my time trying to flush it out, I think it might be time to replace it. It is 27 years old ! O'Reilly shows two radiator sizes for the 1990 LSI : I cannot get a measuring tape under the bottom to measure the distance between the "Bottom Pin Mounts". Why would GEO have two different sizes on the 1990 Tracker LSI ? Is there some other way to find out which one to order ? The Tracker now has a HARRISON (Original - GM ?) radiator. DoctorBill

Re: '90 Geo Tracker LSI Radiator ? 17.75" or 18.5" ?
crvett69 has been a great help with this.
LONG story short - my 27 year old radiator is 17.5 mm longer than ANYTHING the parts places advise as replacement parts ! Pages of vehicles that the part is supposed to fit are WRONG ! DEAD WRONG ! My Tracker was assembled in Mexico......is THAT why ? New Radiator - TOP Old Radiator - BOTTOM ![]() I have to modify the Radiator Mounting Bracket in my 1990 Tracker LSI to make the replacement Radiator fit in. DoctorBill
