High idle
98 Camry V-6 1MZ-FE. Warm Idle is high at 850. Throttle body and IAC have been cleaned. The temp gauge is usually I/4 of the way up, cool. What I have noticed is on occasion, when the temperature gauge goes to the midway mark, the idle goes to normal 700-750 rpm. Could the problem be a faulty thermostat or ECT sensor?

Re: High idle
Probably a bad thermostat preventing your engine from getting to operating temperature. Replace the thermostat.
