991 Stinger Turbo GTR

This WIP will be something different. Me and my brother have started to build one of the latest TopCar project - Porsche 911 (991) Turbo Stinger GTR.





The 1/24 Porsche 991 from Welly was bought as a donor. One of the front wheel is from Camaro ZL1






Some aftermarket sets will be used.


This is the 3D model made by my brother.




Die-cast model was disassembled, the paint was stripped out from the body.

Then the 3D model of Welly's body was created with using of a scan of a real car.








It needs to say that the body from Welly is very close to the original - deviations are about 0.1-0.2 mm on a short distance and max 0.3 mm on a long distance.



Then the fixing support was created in 3D.




And finally was milled on a CNC from a hard model board.

This is the 3D model what we have received after a CNC milling of the rear hood.


These parts will be made on the next step.

i didn´t know anything about that 3d program i also make 3d parts but i use 3d max.
I wanna see more progress on this one

The main difference is : 3DSMax makes polygons, CATIA makes NURBS

Thanks guys!
Yes, me and my brother use CATIA V5 program for 3D modelling.
Some new parts were made from Staron® by milling on CNC and then coated with grey and black primer.
