Replace crankcase breather hose
Hi. I would like to replace my crankcase breather hose with a different type of hose than the stock brittle one. The stock breather hose is so brittle that is broke in two places. Now, I am DIY newcomer to Volkswagen world, but so far I know that the breather hose just takes the air from the pistons along with some oil vapor. With that in mind, do I really have to buy another brittle stock one? Or can I buy any sturdy rubber hose and attach it? Has anyone ever replaced a breather hose with some different material hose and will it work fine?
My vehicle is Volkswagen Passat 2000 4motion V6 DOHC. |
