Hi,
Last night me and my bro were driving home at about 10:30 and we got to a light. Next to us were abotu 4 girls in what looked like a Chevy Malibu. I dont know what year but it looked like a 95-00. We were both at the light and I had my music bumping. I wasnt even looking to race, but as the light turned green I take off as I usually do. My exhaust is pretty loud so it makes it seem like im going faster then i think. well anyways they step on it and im like ok they are not passing me. I gun it and by the time I got to 2nd gear they flew by me. And to make matters worse they flash their hazards at me. So anyways they switch into my lane and I move into their old lane. Just our luck up ahead came another red light. So we got to the light again and this time i said ok im flooring it. So I took off and they took off and once again they flew by me. Flashed their hazards again. So anyways i dont know much about Malibus but my friend has got one and it pushes a V6 with 175 hp. My car is a 90' Civic LX sedan which is lot lighter, 5 speed, intake, exhaust, and im a pretty good driver. But my engine is only a 4 cyl 1.5 liter engine. I have already ordered a 1.6 liter SI engine out of a 90' CRX. If i was to put that engine in will I have a better chance and not get embarassed like that by a malibu? Or are Malibus really pretty quick cars? I know it was a new one not the older ones. Thanks

maybe not ... the malibu has the same engine as the v6 mustang does if I am not mistaken ... and I beat a v6 mustang by about 1 1/2 car legnths with my sohc zc on dpfi .. so if he has an si motor with mpfi he will most likely pull on it.

malibus dont have mustang motors, they have the same tired design all the other FWD GM cars have, 3.2, 3.6, or 3.8 liter v6. in the malibus case, i think its the smallest one

i meant to say camaro
and now that i think about it you still wont win because even though the camaro v6 is a pos its faster than the mustang is.

dude our cars are barely capable of a 17 second quarter mile stock... there's no hope for the stock motor... and a 1.6L SOHC MPFI isn't gonna help much either...

i gotta say man, for 750 bucks, b16a, with intake and exhaust and headers, youd pull then if im not mistaken. I mean, stock 160 hp, then with the other stuff, all with a much lighter car? Oh yeah, do it, and show her whats up, stupid whore probably got the car from mommy and daddy anyways and wont know a thing about cars even the day she dies.

Aiight guys thanks for the input.
I really wish I had the time and money to get a B16 and put it in. But I really couldnt afford a B16 and I found a good deal for a D16. I thought well its a lot better than a D15 92hp DPFI. I might as well get 1.6 liters with 108hp MPFI. Also the D16 is supposed to be a lot easier to install than a B16.

Buy a gas-mask and prepared to get smoked again without doing serious mods

dude
dude if you want a good deal try lookin around for 2g integra motors they all come dohc and the low end is simular to a zc (not as good though) but your basically spending money for 15 horsepower it's not worth it at all unless you really wish you had gotten a si.
w/ around $800 you could boost it 130 but that's around what you would have if you got an integra motor. go w/ the integra motor i've seen them go for as little as 300 for engine, trannie, mpfi and other stuff. just look around for good deals i was actually thinking of a d16 civic si motor myself but i have since severly changed my mind, especially after driving one, it's not that much better than your dx, honestly.
