03 towncar keyless entry module

any1 knows where the actual module for the keyless entry is for the 2003 towncar? I need the numbers to open the doors. I checked the whole trunk for the number and nothing there , seems like the last owner took off the sticker, so if any 1 knows , it will be appreciated.

Re: 03 towncar keyless entry module

I just found mine (module) inside the driver door behind the finish pannel. I have a '96 so it may not be the same.

The combo number should be on a sticker stuck to the side of the trunk hinge. Again, that's where it is on my '96.

Hope this helps.

Re: 03 towncar keyless entry module

1996 and 2003 ID's are in the same locations.

The system's permanent entry code is located in four places:
l on the owner's warranty card.
l on a label on the inside of the luggage compartment door hinge.
l on an owner's code card.
l on the driver door module.

Well, here's the story on that --
I'm on the computers 6 days a week, 15 hours a day.
Thats my job so I have no choice. I have a Town Car, Mazda3, PT Cruiser, Camry, F250, gPZ550, KZ1000, and a boat. The only one's that aren't falling apart are the boat (cause I dont use it much) and the Mazda3 (cause it's only 2 months old).

When anything breaks, or I have a question about something, the first place I go is to the computer, google, and the forums. Lots of folks have helped me through some bad times, saved my countless time and money. Through these processes I've learned tons about these vehicles I own, attained copies of the PC based service manuals, learned even more ---

That means, you'll find me on about 20 other forums too Not to mention Excel, Access, and programming forums.

So, should I keep all that inside -- no way. I owe you folks more than I can ever repay. If answering a question when I know the answer, or directing someone in need to someone in the know helps that person, that makes my day.

That's what it's all about folks -- the internet makes our planet a very small place so lets use it for the purpose it was created.

Post Re: 03 towncar keyless entry module

What else can you do from those little key pads?

Mine is a 85 Mark VII LSC so your may differ, but after entering your code you can then:

-Unlock the passenger side door (press 3)
-Open the trunk (press 5)
-Lock both doors (press 7 & 9 at the same time)
-Define an aditional 5 digit code (press 1 and then the 5 digit code)

Are there any other tricks you can do i am unaware of?

Guess you havn't tried this one, maybe not available in 85.
- Enter the OEM code, followed by any user code, don't blink your eyes or you'll miss it, then press 1/2 9/0 simutaneously. The whole car (except for the hood ornament) disappears for a brief moment.

Ford was experimenting with the security system and stealth technology.

LOL... Quite the technology feat! I wish the FoMoCo guys that did this worked on the 96-2001 intake manifolds.

Thanks for the laugh

Not that this applies, but there also appears to be a TSB on the keyless entry for 2002-2004 LTCs.
Keyless Entry - Door Locks Inoperative Using Pad/Remote

TSB 05-6-7 04/04/05
DOOR LOCKS INOPERATIVE - FUSE 2.30 OPENING INTERMITTENTLY

LINCOLN: 2002-2004 Town Car

ISSUE
Some 2002-2004 Town Car vehicles may exhibit the door locks being inoperative when using the keypad and/or remote keyless entry (RKE) fob. This may be due to a short in circuit 797 causing fuse 2.30 to open.

ACTION
Check Circuit 797 (LG/VT) for shorts to ground. Perform wiggle test and monitor DVOM. Potential areas for shorts are under the front passenger seat, behind rear seat back, and C-pillar. After repairing any shorts, or if no shorts are found, remove the keypad to check the part number. If the engineering part number stamped on the part is 1F2T-14A626-ADW, replace the keypad with 1F2Z-14A626-AAA, or the latest level part available. The latest level part will have engineering prefix 4W1T or higher stamped on the new part.

Re: 03 towncar keyless entry module

Nice! Nearly 10 years this thread has been lying here waiting to help somebody. The internet is a wonderful thing.

I'm still loving my 03. I've changed the oil a bunch of times and bought a set of tires since then. (more or less) And I still get compliments.

Somebody wrote it there as that was not done at the factory.
