Popping noise at idle coming from air box.
2005 Ford Tuarus 3.0 engine.
Only at idle has a popping noise out of throttle body. Found lots of people with same problem but no fixes. I did find out noise goes away when unhook alternator wire and comes back when reattach. Found someone replaced there alternator and that didnt fix it either. I think its electrical? |

Re: Popping noise at idle coming from air box.
Does your 2005 Taurus have a cable driven throttle plate or a throttle by wire electronic system? If cable driven, I'm having a very hard time understanding how the alternator could cause a noise from the throttle body.
