U.S. continues to wrestle for control of Iraq

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/...in560875.shtml

A cute piece of journalism puting a heavy pro-American slant on continued actions against Iraqi citizens.

The war continues.Despite George Bush announcing that the main thrust of the war was over,American and British troops continue in an often lethal running battle for control of Iraq. The rightful owners of Iraq are justifiably turning against the occupying forces.Saddam has been deposed, the WMD's have disolved into thin air[or maybe hot air?],and the only justifiable role for the foreign military in post-war Iraq is to repair the damage that they caused on their misguided and unsuccessful crusade.

One third of all troop deaths in Iraq have occured since Mr Bush declared that the bulk of the fighting was over.Clearly, this is fast becoming an untruth. It's time for the invaders to hand over control of Iraq to the Iraqis. To continue with this kid of bullying and barbarism is to risk turning Iraq into the Vietnam of the 21st century.Over 200 American and 40 British Men have been sacrificed in the search for weapons and the imposition of American values on Iraq. Both causes have so far failed. It is time to re-assess the human cost of this failed mission, and hand over responsibility for delivering peace and quality of life and in Iraq to a more balanced authority. You'll find them in the 'phone book under 'United Nations'.

I actually supported the troops being there when the war was going on( not that it still isnt) Because Im not going to just complain about something I cant change, but now Ive become a bit sore with the fact that so many meaningless deaths have taken place and still no WMD have been found. I know this will sound like an impatient person talking but I just wish that we could find someone to do things like what needs to be done and get the American troops out and let some more closely Islamic related groups be the main focus of the rebuilding, that way maybe it would go more smoothly. And I dont care what Bush says, if the war was over there wouldnt be as many deaths as there are now.
