That's the live action movie right? That was ok...I remeber seeing it a long time ago, I was a little kid then so it could have been horrible and I didn't know it.

Iriam Zeiram

I dunno if that should be called rare, but i guess its not super popular but its pretty cool :X

Patlabor is not rare, but i love it (I wana see the third movie, it came out not too long ago, second was absolutely awesome!)

Akira rocks, but everyone knows about that heh.. very popular, if you haven't seen it.... watch it *#(@

Princess Mononoke but that's a 'soft' anime, although it has some pretty neat action.. i dunno if it'd appeal to everyone, i love it. Has a sort of natural and spiritual side to it and such. This is also a very famous anime but I dunno if anyone here watched it.

BERSERK! NOW THAT, I don't know how rare/popular it is, but DAMN watch it!! I will not spoil nothing for you, if you see it, I can discuss it.. not going to reveal anything. BUT ITS ONE DAMN GOOD ANIME!

Have you guys watched any of the above? Try not to reveal plot for the ones that didn't :X

I loved Princess Mononoke!!!
That movie made the largest gross of any anime movie in Japan and I can see why. Beautifull animaton by one of the best in the business. Great story line, abit weird with the giant boars and wolfs but good anyway. Disney really fucked the pooch on the general realease of this in America by over hyping it and making a ton of copies. When people started complaining about the violence in the movie and the slow sales of it, they pulled the rest of the line of Myisake? films that they bought the rights to. They got scared. Only now since Spirted Away got the Acadamy Award for best Animation did they start rolling out the film library.
Anyway off my soap box.... LOL

Why was that shown -_-;.. or .. ya... wait... leme guess Akira is R rated? (well I guess now that's violence.. more adult directed).. BUT PRINCESS MONONOKE? OMG... That makes me mad, I will watch it right now lol. Take that disney!

When Princess was brought out in the US, Dizzy Corp toughted it as a family film with an action theme. Anyone who saw it would tell you that it was NOT family oriented. Who else in their right mind would call demons and lots of blood and arms and heads being choped off as family fun???? There was plenty of violence in a PG rated film that should have been rated higher. Akira was rated R for the more violent acts than Princess M but it also had the foul language. Plus Akira was only out on the big screens here in the USA for a short time and it was several years before a non bootleg copy was printed.
I like both shows, but they are two different breeds of anime. One is a pure art form / fantasy film with violence(Princess M) the other a hard nosed pure action/violent anime.
