Thinking about a used Lacrosse...thoughts?

Probably about 5-10 yrs old range, roughly. Started shopping and I like the look/styling of them, and their reliability reports look at least reasonable.

Allowing for bias of those who love them any experiences or what you've heard from others about the good or bad appreciated.

Re: Thinking about a used Lacrosse...thoughts?

Pros
- The car is a very nice smooth riding car.
- has a hint of luxury about them.
-lots of room in the interior and trunk isn't too bad either.
- looks nice

Cons

- (Mine at least) is terrible on gas. 2009 is what I have. My V6 F150 gets better gas mileage.
- lots to go wrong with the car (and has with mine.) Current unresolved issues because I don't want to pay to fix are (passenger air bag light is stuck on - was told this needs to be fixed if I want to ensure proper functionality., Also Traction control/ABS light goes on due to a reoccurring fault with the wiring - The wiring will rub and default within a year and every year.)
My passenger rear door lock does not open and close anymore (weak motor?)

-Changing the front light bulbs are challenging

This is coming from someone that loves buicks and I also love my Lacrosse but I would reconsider for next time due to my issues with this particular lemon.

Re: Thinking about a used Lacrosse...thoughts?

I always like the Regal better than the LaCrosse.......they should have redesigned the Regal rather than bring in the Lacrosse......GM has problems with most of their cars, concerning ABS, usually hubs/harnesses.....and yes, they had problems with the PPS, passenger side air bag....the problem was usually the sensor in the seat cushion......

Re: Thinking about a used Lacrosse...thoughts?

I bought a 2013 LaCrosse with 17K miles. I like the car very much and I can get 32 mpg on the highway, better than my '97 LeSabre.
The one minor thing I do not like is the absence of an oil pressure gauge. Yes, it has an idiot light but you would think a car like a LaCrosse could include an important engine monitor like an oil pressure gauge.

Re: Thinking about a used Lacrosse...thoughts?

My 2009 has the 3800 series three engine. Although it is a great engine (longevity wise) I do not get great gas mileage.

I believe the 2013 has a different engine than mine.

My 2013 LaCrosse has a 3.6 liter engine. Even though it weighs more than my '97 LeSabre with the 3.8 liter engine, it seems to have better acceleration. Of course my LeSabre has 171K miles.
