Porsche 997 GT3 RSR - Team Prospeed Compétition LM2011

Hi Guys,

one of my news projects.
Again I´m using the great transkit of Scale Production, for building this great Le Mans art car of 2011.
One year ago I built the 2 Flying Lizard art cars out of this kit
Base is still the Fujimi GT3-R kit.
First time I´m working with decals from NikDraw, they are a bit different in the material, but I have no problem to put them on the body.

First priming the body with Tamiya white primer

To be continued...

Best regards
Sascha

Re: Porsche 997 GT3 RSR - Team Prospeed Compétition LM2011

Awesome!!! Ive wanted to build this one for quite awhile now, I use Grafiprint/Grafiwrap products at work! (they produce printable vinyl films for signage & wrapping cars etc)
Looking forward to more!!!

Re: Porsche 997 GT3 RSR - Team Prospeed Compétition LM2011

Sascha, just a question about this masterpiece and incredibly hard work:
wasnt maybe helpful to paint the body with a color similar to the decals as base? maybe it could help in the very hard fitting, specially for the darker decals over a white body.

Also true you have no problem in making miracles possible applying such decals.
The car is impressively nice btw. great work

Re: Porsche 997 GT3 RSR - Team Prospeed Compétition LM2011

Hi Paolo,

yes, you´re right, that was my first idea, too.
The problem is the decal are completely transparent, if I paint the black area black, the white lines are done.
So it is the only way to manage the decal job.

Greeting Sascha

Re: Porsche 997 GT3 RSR - Team Prospeed Compétition LM2011

Wow Sascha - that's some awesome decal work you've done there.

How are you working the decals?? do they work like "water slide" decals without the water?? - tell us the procedure please??
What makes the decal stick to the car body?

where did you get the decals from??

Thanks Paolo
John

Re: Porsche 997 GT3 RSR - Team Prospeed Compétition LM2011

Hi Guys,

@ Shayne Thank you!

@ John This are water slide decals, but foil is a little different.
It is more flexible, clear and the printing is multilayered (digi-printing). So I need later more claercoat. I can very good repair the holes with the decal waste. The workes with Gunze decal setter and softer.
