2000 Windstar - Random horn on
The horn came on solid about 10 minutes after parked. This is not alarm, as horn is blowing solid. Tried all things to reset the alarm, started engine, locks, etc. Only way to get to stop blowing was to disconnect battery. Re-connected, still blew, disconnected 5 minutes, reconnected, and was ok. Since that time, it has started going off randomly, even when driving on road. Appreciate any help to resolve. |

Re: 2000 Windstar - Random horn on
First, identify the "horn relay" ... usually shown in the fuse/relay layout in the owner's glove box manual ...and be prepared to remove during next event.
. If that stops the horn... you must next determine if the relay was "stuck" or was energized by a voltage to the coil. If the relay is not at fault ... the next likely fault source would be the horn switch in the center of the steering wheel. Be careful in this area ... you don't want to have the air bag blow!! |
