'01 radio & cd player

The cd player will play but will suddenly stop with a high pitch whistle. If i eject the cd and insert back it will play until it happens again. the radio was playing fine when yesterday there was little static and it stop playing and wouldn't turn off, the cd player would not play either. I disconnected the neg. side of the battery to turn it off.

Thanks in advance!

Update: I located fuse#4 for the radio & cd player, pulled it and the radio was still on. I remember reading something about fuse#19, pulled that and the radio went off. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.
