1973/74 #12 Coca Cola Chevy Malibu Bobby Allison

Hi

Startin with a new build: BobbyAllisons #12 Coca Cola Chevy Malibu 1973 or 1974.

1973...









...or 1974.






The basic is an old and partially build #12 Coca Cola Allison Malibu. No resin body or something else (maybe the wheels). I try to fix this old AMT Kit.







It´s a street car with a rollcage but not a stock car.













..some little details...















...but destroyed decals.





New wheels and tyres are also ordered.



I started with the wheels openings . I cut them out and make it more narrow, 0,0984 inch on every side.

The rear axle is okay, but without details. I started to cut the frame off in this area.













Here is a pic of the 1996/97 Thunderbird Chassis...



...and here is the Malibu one. I decided to bring some details to the floor. I copy the chassis braces to the floor.





Then i glue some Evergreen plates of 0.019685 inch on the floor....











...and that is the final result.











Closing the gap between body and chassis.

a small update today....

The chassis and the rollcage almost done. The color is Tamiya TS-49 Bright Red.

The oiltank is from an old Monogram Kit.





This is the reference pic.









The fire bottle is made from a piece of sprue.

The sanding on the driver side is done.





Fix the body in the door and b-pillar area.

Starting with a very bad part of this kit....the front.





The part looks okay but it didn´t fits to the body.











The front bumper is to short.



I put some Evergreen on it.







Took the chrome off...





...and made new rivets...



...at the moment, the alclad is drying.

Here are the decals, wheels and tires. I decided to take Tamiya bright red TS-49 for the body, the same red like the roolcage. TS-49 is a little bit to light colored but the Italien red looks a little to dark.

...the head support is done an fixed at the cage.











The body is done and ready for paint.











4 times of Tamiya bright red TS-49 on the outside and inside of the body. The gold paint is following this weekend.











Starting also with a new front suspension, this is the target...

Here are some pics of the protection parts.











The body is ready for the gold color.



...and it´s done after 3 times of Tamiya gold.







This is the car befor this Wip...

The shifter is new and some small details on the rear cooler







The seat belts are done and fixed an the chassis.





The rollcage is almost done, missing the seat and the dash.









The chassis bottom is painted.





The wheels and tyres are done but the stance at the rear is too high at the moment.







The front window is done with BMF, more BMF and decaling following this weekend.
