radio/ antenna problem

I have an 89 century that the radio does not work although the clock does. car has power antenna that I believe might be the problem. have another power antenna to replace it.my mechanic checked both fuses an they are good. is it possible that the radio would work after installing new antenna?
would like to do this without spending a lot money for a new stereo system. any thoughts would be helpful.

Re: radio/ antenna problem

It's possible a junction/connection of the antenna cable came apart.....I always had an old mast antenna with cable to plug into the back of the radio to check if it was the radio or the antenna....
