1992 Dodge Spirit
My Spirit does not want to climb hills anymore. It loses power and overheats.
Plus now I'm getting about 8 miles to the gallon. What could be wrong with my car? Other than this it's doing pretty good. Thank you. Deb |

Re: 1992 Dodge Spirit
need to check your fuel and air filter, change the plugs if it has not been done in a while and get your exhaust system checked, may have a plugged cataletic convertor. usually will hear a hiss under car if they are totally plugged but not always

Re: 1992 Dodge Spirit
Is the fuel filter inside the fuel tank?

Re: 1992 Dodge Spirit
it could be in back by the gas tank or up front by the engine but it should not be inside the gas tank

Re: 1992 Dodge Spirit
My fuel filter was replaced a few years ago, and the mechanic told me it was inside the fuel tank, and that he had to remove the fuel tank to replace it. I'm sure I was lied to from what you are telling me now.

Re: 1992 Dodge Spirit
there is a fuel strainer/sock in the tank but filter is usually mounted outside the tank so you can change it without removing tank
