Lamborghini Jota

This is the Hasegawa kit. While I’m building it straight out of the box, I am changing the interior color from what is noted in the directions to more closely resemble the way car looks now after a restoration. The body is fairly crisp and delicate, but the body panel lines were a bit soft, when I cleaned up the flash and sink marks I also scribed the lines deeper. Ready for final prime and then some color…

Tamiya Bright Red straight from the can for the exterior… Seems to be giving my camera a challenge, it’s blurry or blinded, even after drying overnight.

Re: Lamborghini Jota

Thanks guys!
I mixed the main colors for the interior with Desert Yellow and Gold Tamiya acrylics as well as Desert Yellow enamel for minor shade differences. The molded interior doesn’t match the photos of the real car, so painting some of the details will have to be a little different.

The engine doesn’t have a lot of retail, but since it is a curbside I suspect it has more than it needs.

The interior is finished.

Re: Lamborghini Jota

Thanks. I toned down the color a bit, the real one is a tacky gold color.

I decided not to clear coat it, so I just polished and waxed the paint.

Installed the headlights and added the BMF. The A-pillars are very delicate on this model and the engraving is very light.

Re: Lamborghini Jota

The camera seems to be able to see this color better in less light… The glass is in and most of the black trim for the body is done.

Re: Lamborghini Jota

I love almost all of it, but the seat belt decals are not quite doing it for me...

Beautiful workmanship though!

Re: Lamborghini Jota

Yeah, I was on the fence about using the seat belts. The real car has padded ones the same color as the interior, but then I started noticing other discrepancies between the kit parts and the real car. The seats needed something, and I wanted to build this as a straight from the box model, so I used them. And thank you.
