How much oil does your Suburban use?

Our 2005 Suburban LT 5.3L 4x4 with 115,xxx miles uses about 1qt every 1600-1800 miles these days. I've switched at 100,000 miles to using Castrol High Mileage 10W-30 oil in normal warm months and only use Castrol High Mileage 5W-30 in the three cold months for use when temps get into the single digits or around 0 degrees. From what I understand this is about normal for this motor. Runs great and gets 17-18mpg hwy & 13-14mpg city.

I have the same engine and 4wd as you. just checked oil now 2100 miles Mobil 1 syn oil, pure one Purolator oil filter used 1/8 qt. vehicles @ 150,000miles original owner. @10,000miles switched from Castrol 5-30wt to synthetic Mobil 1 5-30wt.

8,000miles oil changed uses 1/2 qt. 2000 model year 18.2 mpg on this 2100 mile trip so far 87 octane.
