'99 Tahoe has worn out leather seat

So my B-I-L has wanted this fixed for awhile, seems the leather on the driver's side seat pad has worn through and he has been using duct tape to keep it together. He wants to know his options- surely this as happened to others here. So, can just the seat pad (tan in this case) be bought? Or should he go see an upholstry shop, He actly asked about buying brand new seats, since the seat heater is inop as well. Any ideas?

scrap yard for seat/cushion. you can get color dye to match / make the seats look new again. leather technologies in ronanoke va has water based leather/vinyl dyes.

never had much luck with repair shops. problem is where do they get the leather etc..labor is also a factor.

dye for the seats would be about 35.00//.

when this is being done , adding more springs or seat cushion material helps avoid the leather being worked too much..

these seats do not like 250 plus lbs .
