Car kills when I stop?

Have a 96 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera 4 cylinder.

Lately I have had some problems that occur every now and then, When I come to a stop the car may kill and the fuel need will go to E, albeit their is usually a quarter of a tank or less in the tank when it does it so it could be gas shifting, but I dunno. Sometimes it will kill when going from complete stop to accelerating. But when driving it drives fine, it wont kill, only when Stopping sometimes and Going from stop.

Any clues?

Does this happen if you have a half a tank of gas or more?

So do all the idiot lights come on or is the dash lighting dead?

Re: Car kills when I stop?

It happens when I got enough gas, I tried testing it around the block today and it seems to be very apparent problem only while driving. It happens enough where it stutters and tried to kill the moment I give it gas while in Drive and the moment I accelerate from a stop point, I couldnt get it to do it on sloping hills though front and back. Once it gets up to enough RPM its ok. I was thinking......Torque converter? a couple years ago the Torque Converter lockup Solenoid went bad and I had to unplug it, when it was plugged in it would kill like this or similar fashion, although it was a PITA to ever get it started again.

It dont try to cut off while its in park though and I rev it up.

Check Engine light dont work but I can test for codes on OBD II, nothing come up on it worth noting.

Re: Car kills when I stop?

Is this a three speed or 4 speed? I remember the TCC problem on the 3 speed....

What are the codes not worth noting?

Re: Car kills when I stop?

I dunno the speed, I cant specifically remember the codes, I know their was a Cylinder 4 misfire but thats been an on and off code for years and its only slight. I know their is some fuel loop code thats been thrown for years also, same with the P1870 I think it is, I think the P1870 code is a wiring backwards on radio though or something, I cant remember, anyway their is no new codes for it.
