Need new CPS but which one?

i have a 96 xj 4.0 auto, my CPS is going bad and i need a new one but when i went to get a price on one it gave me 2 choices

Engine Crankshaft Position Sensor.
Without updated OBD2 connector
(Option code XCY) $65.00
OR
Engine Crankshaft Position Sensor.
With updated OBD2 connector
(Option code XCY) $90.00

How do you know which one you need? how do you know if you have the updated connector or not? any help would be appreciated also would it matter if i bought the one that was for the non updated and used it on my rig if it was for the updated one

Did they have both in stock? Tell the parts store you want to look at both of them. Look at your old connector and get the same one.

I looked both sensors up in an online parts book. Without updated connector, it showed round pin terminals. The updated one showed flat spade terminals.

I'll do that. i really hope its the cheaper of the 2. i found both kinds on ebay for less than half of what the part store is charging but i don't think i can wait (nor my Cherokee for that matter) that long to get them
