Optima Battery

Has anyone installed an Optima Red Top model 800s or Yellow Top model d750s on a 92-95 civic. There are just a little bigger than than the stock battery, and was wondering if I need to make a custom battery tray and mount, or will it have to be relocated?

Stinger started making a battery this year that fits in the spot w/ no modification. All their stuff is awesome anyway. The optima batteries are gonna be way too wide. the site for stinger is www.aampofamerica.com

Optima has designed the new 51 & 51R Yellow top batteries specifically made for compact cars... like Civics. Go here or you can join in the Club SI Optima groupbuy.

Okay, I am curious. Yellow-top is Deep Cycle, right? Red Top is regular? How do u kow whether the yellow top or red top is best for you? Also, does only the yellow top come in 51 and 51R for civics? I heard dont use a deep cycle if you drive your car alot, cuz they arnt made for regualr crankin and drving? Is the yellow top like that? Is that true? or is the Yellow one of the better batteries now available for civics? I've always been confused between the optima batteries red and yellow tops.

I use an SVR battery in my dailyu driver but it does get deep cycled enough. I haven't had any problems with my bat or ewlectrical system yet except for a couple of fried alts. 60 amps don't cut it.

One thing about deep cycle is look at their discharge rate and look at a regular bat diuscharge.
