2005 Accord Ex Supplemental Restraint System Indicator

The Supplemental Restraint System Indicator comes on when driving the car and then goes back off. I never know when it's coming on.
The glovebox owner's manual says it indicates a potential problem with front airbags. It will also alert you to a potential problem with your side airbags, passenger's side airbag automatic cutoff system, side curtain airbags, automatic seat belt tensioners, drivers seat position sensor,or the front passenger's weight sensors.
Is there anyway for me to figure this out without taking my car to the dealer? 152,000 miles/4cylinder.

Re: 2005 Accord Ex Supplemental Restraint System Indicator

My 2004 Accord had the same problem, but on the 2004, Honda had a problem with the seatbelt latch that would make the SRS light come on, Honda also had a lifetime warranty on that so they fixed it at no charge, Check to see if the 2005 had the same issue.

Re: 2005 Accord Ex Supplemental Restraint System Indicator

Thanks for your help. I initially contacted American Honda in Torrance Calif. They checked the information on my car and told me there were no warranties that would cover the SRS light on my dash no matter what was causing it. I kept seeing reviews from lots of Honda owners who said there is a lifetime warranty on the seatbelts.
I took the car into the dealership and they fixed it for free. The female receiver on the drivers belt was bad. American Honda versus the dealership. Its like the right hand doesnt know what the left hand is doing telling me the warranty is no good.
I bring the car home and look at the work they did and the mechanic was too lazy to plug the plastic clips holding the electrical connectors into the holes in the frame to keep them out of the way. The best part is he took his air gun and tightened the four bolts that hold the seat frame to the floorboard and stripped the heads of the two front bolts. I could not put a 14mm socket on the bolt and get them loose. I called back and told the service guy who took care of me. I had to wait for new bolts to arrive and take my car back to replace the bad ones. Dam if he didnt use the air gun again to tighten them. He didnt strip the heads but I could easily tell the heads were starting to strip again.
I have been working on cars for 45 years and I absolutely hate letting someone else work on my cars. They are just in it for the money.
