Kremer Vaillant Porsche 935

Surprise! another Porsche, this is an old kit I have had for a while, but all looks ok with it. I do like the 934, and the 935's so will have a Porsche building year. Thanks to mitom for the suggestion of which kit

Re: Kremer Vaillant Porsche 935

Cool, I've started this kit a few weeks ago and I'm just about ready to prime everything but I've been putting it off because a few problems with the kit. As good as this kit is for being older it does lack in a few areas and I'm wondering how you might handle them. First are you going to add any brake detail? I wanted to but I can't seem to find any independent 1/20 PE rotors and calipers that would work without cannibalizing another kit. Also there's no distributor and the alternator bracket is solid, are you going to add either of these items or just build box stock? Good luck!

Re: Kremer Vaillant Porsche 935

Hi Baxter, it is a problem to get bit for a 1:20 kit, the distributer is a pain, on an earlier kit I built, I used a bit out of another kit, not sure what I am going to do with this one, not sure I am too worried with the brakes, as you will not see them.

Re: Kremer Vaillant Porsche 935

Made a start at last, also got the camera chip cleaned, so no more dots on the photos. The decals were old, and a bit like cardboard, so took some time to get them down, got there in the end though, then cleared and polished.

Re: Kremer Vaillant Porsche 935

This is probably my favorite car. Love the lines of the body, the stance, the color and livery. I'm building the jagermaiseter version. But at the rate I'm building nowadays it's going to be a while before I'm done. I'll keep my eye on this thread.

Re: Kremer Vaillant Porsche 935

The paint job looks superb. Well done. It seems that the quality and age of the decals didn´t bother you at all.

The last shot is showing nice detailing on the front lip. This will looks awesome when done.

So keep the good work up and show us more of the next steps you´re taking finishing this one.

Re: Kremer Vaillant Porsche 935

I just bought one of these kits, and I'd like to ask where you got the paint and what is the color? I'm assuming the color code is RAL5021 and if you're in GB it's probably Halfords, which won't help me much in the US. Does Hiroboy offer anything? Thanks.

Re: Kremer Vaillant Porsche 935

Hi Larry, Steve at Hiroboy did the paint for us, it is a match for the Cobalt Green that Tamiya made for the Kremer Vaillant RC kit in the 70's, also matches Vaillants logo colour from the time. Hope this helps

Re: Kremer Vaillant Porsche 935

Duncan,
Thanks for the info. I just ordered a bottle of Zero paint from Hiroboy (and a few other goodies). That was almost too easy.

Re: Kremer Vaillant Porsche 935

Hi, I would like to introduce my little friend with number 51 that me and my son met at the 2007 Rennsport event at the Daytona race track. I think this is more or less the same car you're modeling...
