All Japan Model and Hobby show 2013
Hi Guys
I was hoping to attend the All Japan Model and Hobby show this year, I have never attended a show before and its my first time in Japan. I was planning to base myself in Tokyo and travel to the show on Saturday and Sunday via train. Does anyone know if you need to buy tickets in advance for the show and if so where do you get these from? I have tried to search for this online but cannot find anything? Thanks |

Re: All Japan Model and Hobby show 2013
There will be two hobby shows in Japan this fall, the R/C-centric Tokyo Hobby Show in September and the model-centric All Japan Model Hobby Show in October.
Tamiya will only attend the Tokyo Hobby Show at Tokyo Big Sight this fall, and already announced that they'll skip the All-Japan Model show at Makuhari Messe. Ebbro is included in the Tokyo show exhibitor list, but not sure whether they'll attend both or only the Tokyo show. The rest (Aoshima, Hasegawa etc.) isn't a part of the Tokyo show exhibitors, so they should be at the All-Japan Model show as usual. Fujimi no longer attend hobby shows (Well, except for the garage-kit-centric Wonder Festival, but it was held in July.) For Tamiya's LaFerrari kit, visit the Tokyo show. For Aoshima's McLaren F1 GTR, go to Makuhari. Both places are easy to get to. Tokyo Big Sight http://www.bigsight.jp/english/index.html Makuhari Messe http://www.m-messe.co.jp/en/index.html |

Re: All Japan Model and Hobby show 2013
Thank you both for the help, its a real shame Tamiya are not attending the show in October. For me the two cars I was very interested in seeing were the F1 GTR and LaFerrari I was also hoping to purchase the 1/12 CGT.
Looks like I may give it a miss and stick to the Telford show! Cheers |

Sorry couldn't be more helpful... If you want to experience an awesome Hobby Show in Japan you have to come in May and get down to Shizouka Hobby Show! I've been there 2 times (here are some pictures of this year show: http://imageshack.us/user/tomnem) and it's really great!! All companies are there (of course except Fujimi) and there is a huge hall full off modelers with their best models on display. Also there is a flea market where I saw some very rear kits. AND the best part is you can go to see THE Tamiya factory as well. This year they had items on 50% sale.... So if there is only ONE show you can come here for that should be the Shizouka Hobby Show!!!
