05 chevy 2500 6.0 no oil pressure

hello all. im sure some of us have heard and read the no oil pressure situation. i had it happen to me and i replaced the oil pump and pick up tube all new oe gaskets with the replacement. i still have the same problem. No oil pressure and the tick sound. any ideas before i tear the motor apart and rebuild.

Have you put a manual gauge on it? If not, you need to!

when you replaced the oil pump did you follow the proper procedure to prevent the pump from getting air bound ?
pack the pump cavity with petroleum jelly. dis-able fuel / ignition . then crank engine to check for oil pressure .

Have you changed the oil filter to insure it has not collapsed?
