93 Sentra xe miss/hesitation

Driving my 93 Sentra on interstate the other day and felt a loss of power. Has to gear down to 4th to get enough rpm's to keep up with traffic. At times had to gear down to 3rd to make it up a steep grade. Changed fuel filter did not help. Changed plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor button. Did not help. Cleaned EGR valve. Did not help. As soon as you crank the car you can hear the miss. And when you first tap gas pedal there is a slight hesitation. Any suggestions. ????? Could it be my catalytic converter or coil pack ??? Need help. Thanks Tony
