Pagani Zonda F

In 2011 I found this 1/24 body on ebay but only a few days ago I started this project that probably will last for some months.

Body is fiberglass, has lots of bubbles and was a little warped.

I will use a Mondo Motors 1/24 diecast as donor parts

Also made some modifications... front grill removed, rear grill removed, holes drilled for the lights

As you can see the "carbon fiber" areas have texture, still don't know what to do with that.

Renaissance "round lights" used in different diameters

Rear diffuser made from styrene sheet

Primer applied to check some imperfections

Now I will fix the panel lines and check the fitment of clear parts.

Also decided to paint it orange

Regards,
Denilson

That fiberglass body is a bad copy of Mondo's. I think it would be much better to use the original Mondo's body. I'm going to follow such way.

Re: Pagani Zonda F

i'm thinking, why not paint the CF texture and then cover it with clear epoxy to level it eventually?

That's a good idea, i'll try that in the rear wing. Thanks!

Finished painting the orange, also applied a white pearl and a fine layer of clear coat.

Re: Pagani Zonda F

There's some great work going on here, but I have to admit, I'm puzzled. It looks to me like the resin body started off life based on a Mondo diecast anyway. Why not just detail and finesse the Mondo model (which is pretty inexpensive, certainly over here... only £15, a third the price of a new Fujimi kit of ANYTHING), rather than use the Mondo kit for donor parts?

bestest,
M.

Hello Matt, I understand your question and I've been asked this a lot of times. The diecast produced by Mondo has big gaps between body and movable parts, this fiberglass was made from a body with some corrections and movable parts glued. I did some corrections too, and I'm pretty sure it was easier to do that with fiberglass than metal (diecast).

Carbon areas were painted black, now will apply the decals in these areas.
