Skratch building of rare SABRA Sport 1961 in scale 1:43

Hello folks!
I'm glad that after so long period I started a new project that I'd like to share with you all. I'm talking about one and only sport car made in Israel in the sixties.

History:
The Reliant Sabra Sport was born in 1960 when Autocars from Israel was shopping around for ideas at a car show and they spotted a new body made by Ashley and a frame built by Leslie Ballamy. Autocars had worked with Reliant in the past so they had them create the first prototype and start production while they prepped their factory in Israel. The new sports car made its debut at the World’s Trade fair in 1961. Most Sabras were sold in the US, but some also made it to the UK under the Sabre name. With only 379 produced and only 100-150 imported to the US, this is a rare sight.

Photos of the real car:

Hope that this project will be interesting

Interesting project...can't say I've ever seen one in the UK before.

I wonder if Michelotti got his inspiration for the Triumph Spitfire from this? They certainly look similar!

Wow that is shaping up nicely. Resin is so much harder to work with so i give you good luck with it.

Thumbs up Re: Skratch building of rare SABRA Sport 1961 in scale 1:43

Hi,

You have some great skills!

I can't wait to see the finished Sabra model car!!

Are you only building the one model of the Sabra, or are you going to make a few more Sabra cars, as I would love one for my collection!!

Best Wishes

Dave Poole

Impressive carving/sculpting work. Looked like a modified Spitfire to me at first glance.
