Twin turbos
Some kid i know is selling his twin turbos off a 300zx... now has anyone done a twin turbo setup on a civic, or is it pointless/too much work? What about just buying one from him, is it a pretty small turbo? I dont know jack about 300zxs...

i'm pretty sure that the turbos on the 300zx are really small. i was looking at some on ebay a while ago, and they're smaller than t3. twin turbo would be a waste of time in a civic, because, simply there isn't enough exhaust output to power the turbochargers. so you'll have major turbo lag, and won't even boost until you are up in rpms, maybe 4-5000 you'll start boosting.

There isnt any way to do a twin turbo setup with a large and small turbo... small one to spool fast at low rpms, and the bigger one to take over at high rpms is there?

I believe that there are several twin turbo vehicles that come from the factory that way... perhaps even that 300.

eh i was only kind of thinking about doing it on a civic, more other cars though. Cause i guess like tom said, i still prob wouldnt be able to spool em with such a small engine.

Well i definitly wont see one in longmont. Ive lived here for like 8 years, and ive seriously seen 1 supra... well 93+ that is. yeah 45k isnt worth it to me, cause thats 30k more than my civic. My civic would be the sh!t with 30k dropped into it, not that i have that much, but still. or i could just get a new s2000.... ahhhh dreamin.....

Just to clear things up...the Nissan 300ZX TT uses the compressor housing of the Garrett T25 with a T2 turbine. They are quite small, but in order to achieve top-end power approaching 300 bhp without sacrificing low-to mid-range torque and throttle response and for a more efficient intake and exhaust system the Twin turbos were used rather than 1 larger turbo.
