Intermittent Throttle Issues
My car has been experiencing intermittent throttle issues where it will hesitate slightly. Immediatly after this hesitation the trac control trio of lights come on. I don't think this is the bearing as there is no wheel noise to accompany this. Also the trac control lights don't remain on when you start the car the next time. If this hesitation occurrs when using the cruise the cruise control will be disengaged.
I also scanned the car and pulled a P0341 and P0440 code. (cam sensor and evap). These codes have existed for the last two yrs long before the throttle hesitation issue has cropped up so I don't think it is related. Any ideas of what this could be? |

Re: Intermittent Throttle Issues
You need to fix the issues related to the existing codes first.

Re: Intermittent Throttle Issues
You need to fix the cam sensor first, the p0440 can be left alone.
I'm even surprised that it lasted 2 years with the p0341 without apparent issue. The cam sensor is used by the computer for the timing, which might be the reason why you currently have issues, or not. But anyway, this is an important one to fix, no real diagnosis can be made until that code is fixed. Also, if the ECU detect a fireing issue, timing issue or basically any issue with the engine, it will disable the traction control and disengage the cruise control. If it was an ABS issue (used for trac control too) then the abs light would turn on. Wheel bearing don't always make noise when it goes bad, specially in early stage. |

Re: Intermittent Throttle Issues
Ok I will look into replacing the cam sensor. Is there a link that you can point me to for a procedure?
If a bearing was going bad wouldn't the lights stay on all the time vs intermitent? |

Re: Intermittent Throttle Issues
it can be intermittant, as the sensor is also part of the wheel bearing...
