Alternate blue scheme for Red Bull RB6

Hi guys,

I'm planning to build 1/20 Red Bull RB6 (which just apparently just shipped today after checking my orders at HLJ). Since it's kind of hard to get spray paint in my country, even if they do, the supplier would want bulk orders instead of ordering one can. I see that Tamiya suggested TS-89 that is pearl blue but as I've said, not easy to get that can.

I saw a blogger thought that TS-51 can be used as an alternative when he made the Red Bull Yamaha WCM 500cc bike but then, I find that TS-51 is kind of dark though.

Suggestions, guys?

Thanks.
Adrian

If you have an airbrush..?? There is a colour matched paint for the Red Bull available from Hiroboy in the UK..

This modeler put together an early sample, and used a mix of dark blue and silver as a base coat, and added a primary color Cyan (which is almost like clear blue).

It looks convincing.
If you already have TS-51 (or can easily get one), you can experiment with the base color, since the outcome of TS-51 will vary by its underlying color.

You can also lay a coat of TS29 before TS51. You get a darker result. I have used it on Audi Red Bull, because TS53, which was recommended, was a bit to dark for me and TS51 on top of TS29 looks way better. Here are some pics of the result: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul....php?t=1083727

Best regards,
Lesley

Hi guys,

Sorry for the late reply & I would like to thank you guys for the suggestions.

As I have plenty of TS29 & TS51, I'll experiment on it.

Thanks again.

Adrian.
