Ferrari 195S Berlinetta Touring - 1950
This my new project and my first wip in AF, after a long-long period.
I ;ll try to represent the 1950's, Ferrari 195S Berlinetta Touring from same year Le Mans 24Hours race. The car (SN:0026M) with #25, driven by Raymond Sommer and Dorino Serafini to provisional Le Mans lead. Some electrical problem cause a final retirement. This is the 195S Berlinetta της Touring from 1950's Le Mans. ![]() The same car after a full restoration : ![]() The model came from Mg Models, which I bought before Hiro announced his 166/195 series. ![]() ![]() ![]() Hope you like the project. More to come soon... Best regards from Greece George |

Re: Ferrari 195S Berlinetta Touring - 1950
It's time for the first update in this project...
I start with kit's best part, the borrani style wheels. A little tricky to found the assembly way but the result are excellent. Good job MG. ![]() Then, I start to prepare the body for priming... A lot of pain in this progress In this stage I make some modification in interior. Not 100% accurate but I try it. ![]() Finally, I primed the body and I drill some holes on it. ![]() Hope you found it interesting. Best wishes from Greece George |

Re: Ferrari 195S Berlinetta Touring - 1950
Time for another update...
Some modification in interior this time. Not sure if is it 100% accurate but I don't have any single photo, of the interior on this particular car. ![]() ![]() I add hiro's flocking material and I paint the interior with a semi gloss tan. ![]() Also, I paint some of the interior parts. The roll bar painted with the general tan and the seats with an acrylic brown. After that I made a wash and dry-brushing in seats for a more "interesting" result. ![]() ![]() Finaly, I decan the tamiya's TS10 and I paint the body. ![]() Hope you like the progress. Any comments are very welcome. ![]() Best regards George |

Re: Ferrari 195S Berlinetta Touring - 1950
The next update of this project, represents more work on interior of this car.
The real thing as ref image... ![]() And the twenty four times smaller, in progress... ![]() The metal ring are from Scale's Production set. Some preparation for more interior parts, such the steering wheel, the hand brake, the door handles and the door mesh... ![]() ![]() And interior final assembly with a wheels check... Hope you found this interesting and leave your comment. Best regards George |

Re: Ferrari 195S Berlinetta Touring - 1950
This is the last update on this little berlinetta...
First job - the brakes. The usual process here, with some metal cleaning and polishing. Finally, I wash them with black... Next job - Exhausts. I cut the main part and replace it with another one (from daytona I think). The result painted with exhaust manifold and burnt metal from alclad and drybrushing them. ![]() And the vacform windows nightmare follows.. ![]() Also, I put the mesh inside the doors and I polish the body... Then I apply the decals.. I didn't seal the with clear coat to represent because in 50's the numbers are from paper or hand painted. Also I don't cut the decal in hood edges because I see it in some photos in a Le Mans history book (sorry I can't publish them). The numbers of the real car are from paper and cover the hoods. (what they do in pitstops? ) And the kit fail. The front hood is not correct. I didn't notice before, and I see only when I put the decal on it. Ηowever, I can live with it ![]() ![]() Best regards George Last edited by gtziaf; 12-13-2012 at 10:02 AM. |
