Help in indentifying pics from my 'unassigned' folder..

Hi All

Can anyone shed any light on the following cars, gathering dust in my 'Unassigned' Folder?..
- i have this as a blue F1 with a white interior, but no chassis #

- #029 or #039?

- one of 3 pics (as far as i know) i have of this car, is it #023, #051 or #073 (in its original colouring)

AND FINALLY (FOR NOW ) -
- #047, the one that appeared with the red Carrera GT in a German mag?

Re: Help in indentifying pics from my 'unassigned' folder..

A = #022

B = #068 possibly

C = always thought that was XP5 - I'd be happy if someone knew I was wrong.

D = #047 definitely

I'm 99% sure its not 068. I had it down as Beals car (042? My pics are all jumbled at the moment) but looking at the rest of the pics from that set i'm fairly sure i'm wrong. Its also probably not chambers' car (interiors don't match). Does anyone know what colour Musk's F1's interior is?

I'm also assuming its a US car, which i'm pretty sure it is

It could be XP5 or 051 so who knows

The interior in Musk's F1 is black. I really don't think those pics were taken in the USA.

That set of photos was taken by Ron Kimball and all of the settings with this silver F1 appear to be places other than the USA - in fact some of them look quite similar to the Duncan Hamilton driveway. I've always suspected that he borrowed #068 for photos when they had it for sale.

The picture makes the car look very unsilverish (hey a new word for the Dictionary!). Check these out, it makes the car brownish -

Those studio shots are all of a different F1 - that's chassis #045.

Really? I grouped them all together as they looked the same colour.....Do you reckon the colour is changed by a filter on the camera? looks brown to me....

BTW Erik, do you have an #039 picture anywhere, the Creighton Brown colour (IIRC named after one of the guys on the F1 design team?)

Not a filter, its just the lighting. I've never seen any pics of 039. I heard it went to Japan

XP5. Check out the door lock surround and the early prototype strut beam in the engine bay.

That's always been my suspicion on those photos.

Standard Disclaimer: Been wrong before, will be wrong again.

Sorry - it's definitely #045, color is "Dark Silver". Sometimes looks more grey, sometimes more brownish depending on the lighting.

Not that I am aware of - sorry.

In a related story, I actually heard that chassis #029 which is listed as being painted "Brazilian Brown Metallic" was built for Ron Dennis and that it looked so bad in that color that it was promptly repainted. I think one person on this forum said it looked similar to the UPS van when completed.

The thing that makes me think that its not 068 is that if he did borrow it from DH then it would have that ugly plastic license plate thing on it. Yes, i'm sure it could have been removed but its unlikely

Do you know what colour it was repainted to? Probably silver

Good point, but I can see someone like Kimball putting in the time to remove it.

Nope, I never heard that part of the story. Someone reading along here might be able to add a detail or two.
