I have an 03 and we have been having the same problem. I have replaced the sway bay bushing front and rear, New struts all around. I eventually came to replacing the lower control arms in the rear. Bear in mind that this fixed the clunk.
That being said, I have a new proble. the camber is so far out i is chewing up tires left and right. I tried to adjust it today after I got off of work, but I had stopped for fear of breaking the cam kit. I need advice and I hope this may have helped. the noise your talking about makes me think the bushing may be the culpret. It might even be as simple as end links.
