It looks and sounds like changing the heater core in the 93 TransSport will be one of those long arduous under dash dismantling operations? I might sound foolish again but has anyone ever heard of surgically removing this core by cutting into the 'big black coffin' using a dremmel tool (maybe even from under the hood)? I don't care about looks or perfection here; I simply want to shave a bunch of those hours off of climbing around under there. I haven't taken a real good look at the actual layout possibilities yet but if it looks half feasible, I could do exploratory surgery on a Pick Yer Part victim first; I have to go down there anyway for the other parts
![]() UPDATE: I looked at the van. It doesn't look like there is much if any chance of a shortcut. I will wait until the core gets bad before I start dismantling under the passenger dash. I don't have a heated garage here. There are a number of threads already started on the core change.
