Lamborghini Countach LP400 (1/24 Aoshima)

This was my first completed model of this year and after 6 months or so I've finally managed to take some better pictures of it

It's an Aoshima model, which means the trunk on the front and back wasn't open... I've cut them out hinged them and scratch built a few things.
Also the front light had the option of closed OR opened but I made a small hinge and now they are closing as well.
here are some of the old pictures I had with everything closed

unfortunately too much things going on under the bonnet so that doesn't shut properly, also when I built the hinges for the light I forgot to count with the thickness of the paint and they don't really work as they did before the paint....
anyway, the model is on display with everything open

Thanks for watching!
comments are welcome!
Tom

Did the kit go together well? It's a great subject and the Tamiya and Fujimi kits are very old now.

It'a a surprisingly good Aoshima kit with good fitment but poor details in the engine bay... well, at least it has an engine unlike Tamiya's Lambo

it started out like this

and ended up looking like this

So, yes, it is a great model.

wonderful model Tom.
Your work is really great.
I love all the modifications you did, but your paint job is fantastic.

I love the car. Great work. I understand that you kept the headlights slightly opened on purpouse and it's not a fitting problem.

No, it's not a fitting problem!
It was the hinge that I made to open and close the lights. It was working fine before painting but forgot about the thickness of the paint and when I put the whole thing together the light did not close properly anymore

Thanks for you comments guys! I'm glad you like it

Re: Lamborghini Countach LP400 (1/24 Aoshima)

Very nice!! Great job on the additional details & features. On my 1/12 Countach, paint thickness did cause me some headaches as well, especially the headlights, which don't stay in the up position very well. I display mine all open except the lights...
