96 buick skylark instrument cluster

I have been having theft system problems with my 96 buick skylark. The shop says that it is the instrument cluster, but I have to order a used part myself because they don't make them anymore. When I went to order the part the guy was unsure if that would be the thing causing the issue. Could the instrument cluster cause theft system problems? Basically making the car think that I am stealing it and cut off the fuel.

More often than not, it's the PassLock sensor that is your problem.....was that checked?

Have you tried to reset the system?
